The next trophy asset in Europe may not be an office tower, a luxury hotel or a shopping destination.
It may be a longevity resort.
For decades, trophy real estate was defined by location, architecture and scarcity.
I believe a new category is emerging.
Assets that combine exceptional destinations with preventive medicine, diagnostics, medical wellness, hospitality and long-term health.
Why does this matter for investors?
In my view, several powerful trends and opportunities are converging:
- An ageing population and growing interest in healthy ageing.
- Growth in the wider wellness economy, including wellness tourism.
- The potential of highly specialised destinations that cannot simply be replicated.
- Hospitality and healthcare increasingly moving closer together.
- The opportunity to build real assets with structural demand for family offices and long-term capital.
The interesting opportunity is not simply to build another luxury resort.
It is to create destinations people travel to because they want to live healthier and longer.
Europe has the ingredients
Mallorca. Switzerland. Southern France. Portugal. Austria.
Europe has the locations, medical expertise, hospitality culture and global appeal to lead this category.
The next generation of trophy assets may therefore be measured not only by price per square metre. But by the quality of life they can create.
